The Things I've Said...

Things I've said I'd never do that somehow seem to have happened....

- Have kids
- Get a tattoo
- Get married before I'm 23
- Get divorced
- Breastfeed (maybe not totally true, I just didn't think I could so I wasn't getting my hopes up)
- Co-sleep with my kids
- Take my kids to a restaurant before they're 4
- Live at my parents past college
- Have my own business
- Homeschool

  1. I have a completely different and much more open-minded view of home schooling after having been personally involved in it for a while. In my experience, it can be exactly what a child needs in order to learn (an environment and teaching style that just can't be provided by the public school system), but it can also be a copout for parents who don't believe in the system or want to keep their kids out of the system. I do believe home schooling can work as long as the parent(s) are fully involved and dedicated to providing a well-rounded learning experience for the child. This includes not only the academics, but also the social development and interpersonal skills. I've found a lot of home schooled kids (when it's done properly) are more socially open than public school kids because they're much more used to interacting with a range of people (all ages, kids and adults) rather than just their peers. I'm not claiming to be an expert on the subject, but I was a part of the home schooling community for a year and a half, so if you need any advice, I'm happy to help. :)
